Local liberals are getting wet over the prospects of a democrat taking the 3rd congressional seat away from Mark Souder. I decided it was time to take a look at Michael Montagano’s web site to find out where he stands on the issues. He’s apparently taking a lead out of the Tom Hayhurst play book as he doesn’t list where he stands on *any* issue. It’s all fluff.
So I then wandered over to leftard peace-love-dope hippy Robert Rouse’s YouTube video of Montagano’s press conference. Montagano is introduced by Tom Henry, who I believe pronounces Montagano’s name wrong. He says “Mon-ta-goâ€.
After saying thank you 23 times, Montagano stated that over 80% of Hoosiers in northeast Indiana think the country is headed in the wrong direction. Where’s he get that number? As I’m watching the video, I’m thinking.. gee, it’s Tony Danza. He then goes on to say how Hoosiers are losing their jobs, losing their homes and a health care crisis, yet offered no solutions. He then said the following.
“It’s my generation that’s fighting and sacrificing overseasâ€.
That’s a load of bullshit. The Active Reserves and the National Guard have a retirement age of 60, and I personally know two guys in their 40’s that are in Iraq and one in his 50’s, and another that’s in Afghanistan. This guy is what, 28?
He also states that “it’s my generation that’s most un-insured per capitaâ€. Why is that? Most without health care that are under 35 do so by choice. They think their invincible and don’t see the expense as being worth the coverage.
He then says that “in an economic decline, “his†generation is the first to lose their jobs and lose their homesâ€. Huh? Did this guy just jump off the turnip wagon? It’s a well known fact that when companies start whacking personal in an economic downturn, they’ll start with the older personnel first. They cost the company more for health care, and they’ve been employed longer which means they have more accumulated sick and vacation days.
He wraps up the “my generation†segment with “that’s why we have to act now, act fast and solve these problems nowâ€.
So what I get out of his stump is this. Hey, if you’re over 35, fsck you. It’s all about “his generationâ€.
Peace-out – DT

Maybe Tom Henry got him mixed up with a Mercury Montego.
Sounds like he has a bead on his campaign theme song,
“My Generation”, by the Who.
Well, this guy is on the side of the unions. Maybe he was in a union. In which case they always go by seniority for layoffs. The low man on the totem pole gets cut first. My company just laid some people off recently. It was all salary people and you would be right there, they were all long time people.
Montagano is a cardboard cutout. I think the real challenge is for the Republicans in this district to get off their butts and put a real challenger up there for Souder. He is been in office too long and needs to go. I think he was a good representative of this district, but he has become to entrenched in the political infrastructure.
I went to Souder’s website to see his issues…..looks like he is following the Tom Henry strategy as well (and why not…it worked!)
FEZ!
smells like another BRIAN STEER put-up job to me.
find the most far left liberal sacrificial lamb you can, and lead him to slaughter.
so he raised a lot of money. all the money in the world wont overcome the wrong demographics for a district.
and we wont know anything about issue stances, except he’s not Mark Souder. I’m so sick of souder, I’d vote for a pastrami sandwich before I’d re-elect our incimbent jackass.
So “FEZ”?
1 what is your stance on womans choice?
2 gun rights? individuals right to own a 30 caliber semiautomatic “ranch rifle”; and the assault weapons ban? and the second amendment?
(assault weapons ban is protectionism against inexpensive foreign made high-power home-protection, btw)
3 domestic partnership protections(male and female, straight, and gay)?
4 getting out of the iraq war/quagmire? Peace with honor? wheres OSAMA, btw?
5 “hillary care”?
6 free college education? free public schools?
7 fixing the economy?
8 what do you like/dislike about european socialism- such as in sweden, norway, finland, iceland, canada, germany, france, and so on?
9 easier trade with china/india, and such for small businesses?
10 raising the minimum wage- and how high?
11 easier to organize service workers unions & union benefits?
12. decriminalizing Marijuana? and allowing “basement/attic” growing operations for home/personal use?
13. green technologies/safe nuclear power/cheap electricity for homes and cars?
14. “Neutralizing” Irans uranium enrichment efforts? (no uranium, no bombs, no threat)
15 Veterans care and benefits
16 raising taxes on the obscenely wealthy in washington DC, New York, and INDY- who have made laws, and failed to enforce laws, and allowed the rich to profit, and rip-off the common man. make them pay for their greed.
that should about do it for now.
We cant allow either party, or any candidate to just skate through as the “official nominee” without pinning them down, and making sure the voters, the bloggers, and the media know just exactly where a candidate stands.
Like I said, I’m not voting for Souder. never have.
but I want his replacement to be open with the public, and make a stand on the issues.
We need to picket the Democrats if they disrespect the voters intelligence, and right to know where each candidate stands on these issues.
